THE
terrible twins are back again with another club banger. Revolution's new album
simply titled Fusion is a musical revolution and is going to
take their music yet to another level. The album, which is their eighth offering
is going to be like fuel for your feet and food for the brain. For the twin
brothers, George and Joseph Mothiba, the musical journey never stops and the
journey will always continue, supported by their legions of fans across the
world. Fresh from producing hits for their protégés, Theo, a member
of Kwaito outfit, Boom Shaka and former Coca-Cola Pop star, Ntumiseng, whose
albums were released this year, the Mothiba brothers went to their musical fountain
and brought another festive season gem.
Indeed, for any South African music lover, Christmas is not real Christmas without
a Revolution album and Fusion is destined for great heights. The twins are just
taking off from where their previous album 4U left off, taking you into an explosive
musical journey and massaging your musical feelings with their sounds. The album
opens with their first single Paradise featuring jazz musician
Nombulelo on vocals and renowned percussionist Tlale Makhene on chants as well
as percussion. Its no wonder, the song has been receiving massive airplay on
different radio stations as it stands above the rest and is what the doctor
ordered for the dance floor.
Another hot track with an attitude, is an opera influenced song called We
belong together featuring Given Mabena of Afro-Tenor on vocals. This
song will make you fall in love with classic and opera music. And the local
house masters have outdone themselves on this one and they deserve another round
of applause.
Teaming up with their friend, jazz maestro Jimmy Dludlu again on a song titled
Unity, Revolution gives you another classic track for your
collection. With Dludlu on guitar and chants, the song takes you on a magical
journey around Africa and leaves you spellbound. One thing for sure, Jimmy Dludlu
plus Revolution equals to a bomb that will blow your ear drums away. Any song
that the trio do will make you play it louder for the neighbour across the street
to feel it too. We are looking forward to another installment, gentlemen.
For a gospel dance track, Revolution brought the prodigal son and award winning
gospel singer, Jay, from his hiding place, somewhere in Polokwane, to come and
do the vocals on the song All I need. And whenever Jay sings,
he does it with soul.
The multi-award winning duo pulled out another trick on a song called Mudifho
where they featured little known Shandu, who happens to be singing sensation
Maduvha's brother. Shandu deliveres the song like a pro and don't be surprised
if Revolution decides to sign him into their record label, Four Sounds Productions,
which is already one of the fast growing independent record labels in Mzansi.
The former Muvhango actress, Maduvha, should be proud of her brother. And we
are definitely going to see a future collaboration between the two siblings.
As a Revolution tradition, the brothers have another Xitsonga anthem in a song
called Tlakusa Milenge for their fans in Limpopo and Mpumalanga.
This song is going to take the two provinces by storm, if not yet, and get Revolution
more fans from those regions. Its a kind of song that you can play none-stop
at high volume for the whole day until your neighbours call the police.
People are gonna love this album, not because its another classic Revolution
album but because it's a damn good album for your collection.
