THE multi-award winning house duo, Revolution, are celebrating their 10th offering with a big bang - a double album simple titled 10. This is the first time the twins, Joseph and George Mothiba, are releasing a double album and this offering is going to be double delux for your listening pleasure.
The latest album gives a pleasure of listening to 12 brand new banging songs by the house maestros as well as 11 of their previous hits that made one of the most sort after house DJs in the country. It has been a long journey from the boys from Alex and it has not been a bumpy one as they have been producing hits after hits and keeping up with the Jones. In this album, the terrible twins went deep to the heart of Africa and collaborated with Noumoukounda - an amazing musician from Senegal, the home of African griots. The song featuring Noumoukounda is titled Cherie Nata which means Lady/Girl, come to me in Bambara - one of the languages from Senegal.
Opening up the album is a song titled 1 love featuring Khethi, one of the most talented but underrated vocalist and stage actress. Khethi become a household name in the UK with her single 23 two years ago. The first single on the album is a song titled Without you featuring the lion from the Vaal, Daddy. The song is already enjoying massive airplay and is a contender to the throne of being another charts buster and party anthem.
Keeping it the Revolution style, the twins have another Xitsonga hit titled Vulolo - laziness - featuring Nurse, a former member of the Shaka Bhundu Girls, as well as a Tshivhenda club banger titled Ngavhelisatshi which means Wish this could go on forever featuring actress Maduvha's elder brother, Shandu.
This is the third time Revolution collaborate with Shandu after they signed his younger sister to their label, Four Sounds Production. The twins also collaborated with another award winning musician from Limpopo, Candy "N'wa-Yingwane" Mokoena on another gem titled Realeboga. To top it all, they brought Jay Hlungwani, another Limpopo gospel icon, on a song titled All I need. Kelly Petlane's flute can be heard on a song titled Keep on moving. Paying another tribute to their friend and former Y-FM music compiler, Iggy Smallz, the twin collaborated with Caribbean born actor and poet Antonio David Lyons on a song simple titled Iggy's House. To remind all their fans about their journey into stardom, Revolution made the second CD as a selection of song their best and classic song.
Opening the second CD is the song Vhavhenda featuring the guitar wizard Phillip "Dr Malombo" Tabane. The CD has all your favourite songs like Diphala, The Anthem, Zim Connection with Zimbabwean superstar Andy Brown to mention just a few.
The album REVOLUTION 10 is what the doctor has recommended for your festive season. If you are serious about music, REVOLUTION 10 is a must have for your collection.
